Monaco Yacht Show honours two IPM-IMG Marine Group sustainability projects with Blue Wake™ recognition
Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma selected by Blue Wake™ programme on strength of two projects focused on marine regeneration and energy efficiency.
Both initiatives to feature at Monaco Yacht Show 2026, the world’s premier superyacht showcase, being held at Port Hercule between 23 and 26 September.
Two projects run by Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma, both managed by IPM-IMG Marine Group, have been honoured by the Monaco Yacht Show’s Blue Wake™ programme. Developed in collaboration with the Water Revolution Foundation, this programme identifies and showcases initiatives that deliver a positive, measurable impact on the sustainability of the yachting industry.
The selection recognises two initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable yachting industry through different yet complementary approaches: the restoration of marine ecosystems and the promotion of a more energy-efficient model based on renewable energy generation.
Marina Ibiza is spearheading the recovery of Posidonia seagrass in Talamanca Bay, while encouraging yacht owners, captains and clients to play their part.
The initiative presented by Marina Ibiza focuses on the recovery of one of the Mediterranean’s most important ecosystems: Posidonia oceanica.
In partnership with the Vellmarí Association, founded by National Geographic explorer and marine biologist Manu San Félix, Marina Ibiza is championing the Marina Ibiza Posidonia Meadow, an ecological restoration project that will see 1,500 Posidonia shoots planted during 2026. This initiative forms part of a wider recovery programme for Talamanca Bay, where almost half of the original Posidonia meadow has disappeared over recent decades.
As well as helping restore a habitat that is vital to marine biodiversity, the project engages yacht owners, clients and visitors through an adoption programme for newly planted Posidonia shoots, turning environmental awareness into direct, measurable action.
Thanks to this initiative, Marina Ibiza is taking meaningful steps to reduce its environmental impact, support the regeneration of the Mediterranean and protect one of its most valuable ecosystems.
STP is furthering its energy efficiency strategy with solar panels and photovoltaic installations on all roofs, preventing the emission of 587 tons of CO₂.
Meanwhile, the STP Shipyard Palma project recognised by the Blue Wake™ programme highlights the yard’s ongoing commitment to renewable energy generation and improved energy efficiency, an approach it has been rolling out progressively since 2021.
Over the past five years, STP Shipyard Palma has been steadily expanding its solar power generation capacity through a series of photovoltaic installations across the yard. What’s more, it has introduced battery storage systems and renewable energy-powered charging stations for electric vehicles.
The latest milestone in this strategy is the commissioning of a new solar installation on the roof of STP’s new changing rooms and public toilets, boosting the yard’s capacity to generate renewable electricity for on-site use.
Collectively, these measures have already prevented the emission of 587 tonnes of CO₂, ultimately reducing STP’s environmental impact and helping shape a more efficient, resilient and future-ready operating model.

As part of the Blue Wake™ programme, both initiatives will be showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026. Visitors to Stand AL41 (Quai Albert Ier) will have the chance to learn all about them alongside the broader portfolio of solutions and services developed by Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma to help shape a more sustainable future for the yachting industry.
