Joint safety drill at IPM-IMG Marine Group facilities in Ibiza
The teams of Marina Ibiza, Marina Port Ibiza and Varadero Ibiza, all part the IPM-IMG Group, took part in a training and practice drill coordinated by the company Global Management.
The activity highlighted response protocols and team coordination in emergencies.
On 3 June, the yearly fire drill was held for staff from Marina Ibiza, Marina Port Ibiza and Varadero Ibiza, all of which belong to the IPM-IMG Group. The session was led by José Luis Fayos from Global Management, the company tasked with providing the training.
The session kicked off with a theoretical part to review fire response procedures, going over key aspects such as early detection, evacuation protocols and coordination with the emergency services.
The teams then headed out to the berths and the hardstanding at Marina Ibiza to carry out the practical part, which included the handling of fire extinguishers and motor pumps.
This was followed by a realistic fire drill, first at Marina Port Ibiza, then at Varadero Ibiza and ending with the Marina Ibiza team, recreating a fire situation and applying the protocols laid down at each facility. To round off the day, the teams performed a joint assessment of the activity.
These types of initiatives underline the IPM-IMG Group’s commitment to safety, the continuous training of its teams and the constant improvement of its operating procedures.
“These drills mean that we’re ready to respond quickly and efficiently in any emergency, while also bolstering teamwork between the different facilities of the group”, said Javier Cid, Harbourmaster at Marina Ibiza.
