{"id":13716,"date":"2024-06-13T10:29:56","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T10:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marinaibiza.com\/?p=13716"},"modified":"2024-06-14T10:30:59","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T10:30:59","slug":"marina-ibiza-ever-devoted-to-the-seabed-supports-ibeam-in-its-new-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marinaibiza.com\/en\/marina-ibiza-ever-devoted-to-the-seabed-supports-ibeam-in-its-new-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Marina Ibiza, ever devoted to the seabed, supports IBEAM in its new project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Balearic Institute of Maritime Archaeology Studies (IBEAM) is committed to the conservation and optimisation of the underwater archaeological remains found in the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<p>IBEAM has been working hard since 2015 to enhance these submerged treasures which, together with the natural heritage, make up underwater seascapes that are as impressive as they are fragile.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of this work, the first Underwater Archaeology Centre in the Balearic Islands is planned to open this year, at the Port of Savina in Formentera.<\/p>\n<p>This venue will be the epicentre of all actions geared towards researching, protecting and enhancing the maritime cultural heritage of the islands, and will have a conservation laboratory and its own boat.<\/p>\n<p>Partnerships with the companies Trasmapi and Marina Ibiza will help this project become a resounding success. Together, they are actively supporting the conservation and awareness of the historical and cultural wealth that lies in the depths of the Balearic Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Javier Rodr\u00edguez, Project Director at IBEAM, says that &#8220;this centre is more than a physical space, as it reflects the commitment of Ibiza and Formentera to work towards more sustainable islands that are aware of their rich maritime history&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Enrique Arag\u00f3n, Scientific Director at IBEAM, explains that &#8220;this trailblazing scientific venue will share knowledge through research and awareness-raising projects and will work closely with the business world and the local community to address one of the main problems that we&#8217;re currently facing: the disappearance of our underwater cultural heritage due to looting&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Balearic Institute of Maritime Archaeology Studies (IBEAM) is committed to the conservation and optimisation&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":13714,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[36,26],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-13716","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 -
